💡 River levels are highest in the wet winter and drop sharply in summer, and Cape white-water (the Doring, upper Breede) runs only in season and suits experienced paddlers or guided trips. Sheltered lagoons and estuaries (Langebaan, Knysna, Wilderness) sit in reserves with conservation fees and zoned rules.
