💡 River levels are rain- and dam-dependent and white-water sections (the uMkomaas, Drak) are for experienced paddlers or guided trips only. Many dams and estuaries sit in Ezemvelo or Msinsi reserves needing a permit or day fee, and iSimangaliso waters (St Lucia, Kosi Bay) are guided-only with hippos and crocodiles.
