KZN is fly-fishing country — wild brown trout in the Berg rivers, Midlands stillwaters, tigerfish on Jozini and saltwater fly on the estuaries. Trout waters, venues, clubs, guides, shops and the festival calendar, filterable by region and type.
💡 Most prime trout water is club-controlled (NFFC and UHTFC sell day tickets) and Ezemvelo waters need reserve entry plus a rod fee. Estuary and salt fly needs a marine recreational fishing permit. Rivers close over the winter spawn (roughly mid-May to August) — check before you drive.
